Biochemistry Dept Undertakes Investigations On Various Projects Since Inception Which Includes, Cardiac Profile Liver Function Tests. Renal Function Tests Studies On Trace Elements & Electrolytes. Immunoglobulin Studies. Diabetic Profile Hormone Estimations. Amino Acid & Blood Group Determination. The Above Studies Are Conducted On Patients Of Ongoing Clinical Projects Including Healthy Individuals As Controls In Akhlath Studies.

 

PHYSIOLOGY

Research Activities Of Physiology Department Are Mainly Directed In Assessing The Applied-Physiological Parameters Of Akhlath In Human Volunteers. This Department Is Equipped With The Essential Apparatus For Determining, Basal Metabolic Rate Spirometry Bicycle Ergometry Electrocardiogram Pulse Tracings Anthropometric Measurements The Investigations Carried Out Are Being Interpreting And Analyzing In Assessing The Temperament Of Human Subjects Of Various Ongoing Research Projects.

 

PATHOLOGY

The Following Type Of Work Is Being Carried Out In Pathology Laboratory Routine Hematological Investigation, Nasal Smear Cytology, Ra Factor, Urine Analysis, Stool Examination On Patients Of Various Ongoing Projects Are Being Done. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Screening During The 2005-07 The Instrumentation Of Pathology Laboratory Has Been Upgraded To Meet International Standards. Pathology Department Also Extends Services To Gopd.

 

PHARMACOLOGY

The Institute Has Conducted Pharmacological Studies On Single And Compound Drugs Used In The Treatment Of Different Diseases. Besides, Acute And Sub-Acute Toxicity Studies Have Also Been Conducted, Which Is A Mandatory Requirement In Developing A New Drug For Clinical Trials.

 

DRUG STANDARDIZATION AND QUALITY CONTROL

The Prime Concern Of The Council’s Drug Standardization Research Programme Is To Evolve Standards For Single And Compound Drugs Of Proven Efficacy Included In The National Formulary Of Unani Medicine For Their Incorporation In The Official Unani Pharmacopoeia Of India.

The Lab Is Equipped With Hplc, Glc & Aas. The Unit Comprises Of:- Drug Chemistry Laboratory Pharmacognosy Laboratory The Unit Is Contributing To The Pharmacy Section By Evolving Procedures For The Preparation Of Unani Drugs A Project On Pharmacopoeial Standards Of Ayurveda, Siddha And Unani Medicines Is Being Also Carried Out At Crium, Hyderabad Crium Has Been Selected By The Department Of Ayush, Ministry Of Health & F.W., And Govt. Of India To Carry Out The Project On "Pharmacopoeial Standards Of Ayurveda, Siddha And Unani Medicines". The Project, Costing 15 Lakhs, Has Been Allotted In 1997 And Is Of Three Years Duration And Is Fully Financed By The Department Of Ayush. The Work Has Being Carried Out By Pharmacognosy Section.
